Further to Bowles and Walker Ltd’s existing in-house efforts towards energy efficiency with its plastic injection moulding activities, a new energy initiative has begun with our energy consultants Indigo Swan, focusing on current energy usage and how to devise new methods to reduce it.

As Covid-19 restrictions continue to lessen and life starts to return to normal for the public, demand for plastic injection moulding products has picked up and continued to increase stadily.

Bowles and Walker Ltd have observed that current plastic injection moulding raw materials are experiencing a massive increase in cost, as well as suffering from a lack of availability. This has increased recycled material sales massively with seemingly no stop on its rapid demand.

In 2016 Bowles and Walker began to aid customers by helping them to reshore several plastic injection moulding tools from abroad back to the UK. The recent pandemic has yet again highlighted the need for greater reshoring.

After a short residence at Bowles and Walker, our new Borche 400T plastic injection moulding machine is running at full capacity! It has been fitted in to our production schedule and will be running solidly for the next few weeks with further production runs already being planned.

Since the COVID-19 restrictions began to loosen in March, and with the re-opening of shops and recreational activities in April we have started to see an upturn in plastic injection moulding orders from our customers.

Plastic injection moulding production, as well as many other sources of plastics, and its inappropriate disposal have become one of the big environmental issues of modern society.
